The defining part of- and the most dealbreaking parts of slushwave is its vocals. Usually, slowed down vocals are more uncanny to me than anything, but Desert Sands, and this album in particular turn what is usually a turnoff into one of the most spectacular musical pieces ever.
This whole album feels like you’ve been transported into a place transcending all known nations or environments, language or culture. This album leads you to explore your mind, and all the memories you’ve forgotten. Tancevat

I really enjoy the vibe that this album drives at however I don’t agree at all with people calling this slushwave. Slushwave is slushwave because it has a slush like sonic texture, blended sound. This just has a little bit of reverb and the distinct sounds are clear. It’s more easily equated to mallsoft or traditional vaporwave. Tri16

Far-out exotica from this aptly named group—the kind of music George Jetson might play while unwinding with a martini. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 13, 2022

I don't think the artist knows how beautiful this actually is. I hope Desert Sand will be mentioned along the lines of Bach and Philip Glass a hundred years from now, as one of music history's greatest virtuosos. Thank you for improving the overall quality of human existence, Desert Sand. Thomas Hill
